Fish Oil May Be Good Supplemental Treatment For Lupus
Systemic lupus erythematosus (also called SLE or lupus) is a chronic inflammatory disease that can affect the skin, joints, kidneys, lungs, nervous system, and other organs of the body. Patients with lupus may also develop premature cardiovascular disease. Researchers randomly assigned 60 patients with lupus in a double-blind, placebo controlled trial to determine the effect of dietary supplementation with omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids on disease activity and endothelial function.
The investigators employed various methods to measure lupus disease activity and to study endothelial function and cell damaging free radical molecules in this 24-week study.
At the end of the study, participants who had been taking omega-3 fish oil showed significant improvement in all areas of measurement, including improved blood vessel function and a reduction in cell damaging molecules—resulting in potential cardiovascular benefits. There was also a significant improvement in a number of the symptoms of active lupus.“This study confirms the beneficial effects of omega-3 fish oils in improving the symptoms of SLE and also provides evidence for the potential cardioprotective effect they may have in this group of patients,” said Stephen Wright, MD, specialist registrar in rheumatology, department of therapeutics and musculoskeletal education & research unit, Queen’s University of Belfast, Northern Ireland, and lead investigator in the study.

My Song
When I first got my Cochlear Implant; a good friend of mine told me he always
thought of me when he heard REM's song: "Everybody Hurts". He even gave me the CD. I found this 'captioned' U-Tube and ... I LOVE the song!

This flood was new in that it brought about massive URBAN Flooding. (all that snow)from the lack of drains (or clogged up drains).
It not just the rivers.. as a matter of fact; the flooding over the roads is NOT from the rivers.
All along the highway I saw pipes gushing:
WATER into the ditches on the roads by the rivers.
WATER coming from DEVELOPMENTS.
WATER that the already saturated earth could not handle; so it was going over the roads.
(That) WATER belonged to the Developments NOT to the Environment or Rivers.For Every Tree that is Cut;
I see more and more construction adding "Run Off Areas".
the "melt off" goes into the "fenced off pond". The Run Off Area was created with layers of gravel and pipes and drains.

A Christmas Adventure
My daughter and her husband are the most intelligent airheads I've seen in my life.
Seriously; they both have high IQs and work in Upscale jobs.
But they are airheads.
I kept telling them, telling them telling them telling them: "... it's snowing! SNOW, SNOW! SNOW, SNOW! We should come to YOUR place..." (we have a 4WD/non-equine).
"No, no...we'll come over".
.Famous Last Words.
Surprise (not) They got stuck at J's Mother's place. (it snowed all night xmas eve)
(it would seem; the barricade and signs:"Road Closed" should've given them a hint.duh.)
Took them 2 hours to dig out and put chains on and make the 15 minute drive <-- another="" hour="" in="" span=""> to the top of their road (their house is up the hill).
So my son was appointed as: "The Messenger to The Mother"
My son is very good with His Mother.
They knew he could handle me when told they couldn't make it.-->
I had the table all set, the house even clean, dinner is all ready. The house was clean and decorated from floor to ceiling. Decorated it with Spruce branches we had gathered in a trip to Leavenworth and carefully preserved. The table was set; silverware wrapped in cute crocheted stockings ... even some of the china was new.
He knew I would go bi-polar: which I did.
Quite Grandly.
"..They want us to go to THEIR HOUSE!?! and it's already 3 pm??!So he (son) lets me hit the ceiling and go psycho...all that...
I HATE going out at night!! Are you all insane??!..."
then .. hugs me ... he has a 4wd .... he will make sure I am ok... (darn...that kid is good!)
He peels me off ceiling ....They start loading my van with the dinner and everything and leave me to change my clothes etc. (I pack enough for a week. At least.)
He scrapes me off floor....
... Gets me 'sane' again.
We made it there ... fine .... a longgg, slow, treacherous drive.
Son-in-law greets me with a Pina Colada....(DrAngela never lets me drink)
It was All Fine and Good
(my Son-i-L continued to re-fresh my drink).
I am now stocked up to run and BednB'kFast regarding towels and blankets and even a "Mummy Bag". (or is it a 'straight jacket'??) But it all boils down as:
The Most Memorial Christmas Ever.
(Thanks to My Bestest Children Ever)
